Fluorescent fabric (referring here to polyester-cotton blended fabric, also known as polyester-cotton blend) is a fabric made by interweaving FDY or DTY polyester filaments with combed pure cotton yarn. It uses a 3/1 or 4/1 twill weave, resulting in more polyester floats than cotton floats on the front, with the cotton floats concentrated on the back, forming a "polyester-cotton blend" structure.
This fabric is easy to dye with vibrant colors on the front and has a good luster; the back is cotton, making it suitable for wearing next to the skin. Product colors mainly include fluorescent orange, fluorescent yellow, and fluorescent red, with fluorescent green also available. The weight range is typically between 180 and 310 grams per square meter. The polyester-cotton ratio can be either a direct ratio (e.g., T/C 85/15) or a reverse ratio (e.g., 60/40 CVC). Fabric weaves include twill, satin, and plain weave. Its fluorescent properties comply with EN20471 (formerly EN471 standard).
