Product Overview
PVC Coated Oxford Fabric is polyester Oxford with a PVC barrier coating for fabricated outdoor and industrial products. It is commonly used for truck and equipment covers, awnings, industrial tarpaulins, inflatable products, pool covers and other applications where a waterproof coated material is required.

Key Features
Water Resistance
The double-sided PVC structure reaches 15,000 mm H₂O water resistance. This barrier level is intended for truck covers, awnings and outdoor equipment enclosures that may see prolonged rain or standing surface water, rather than the lighter waterproofing used on apparel-grade Oxford.
Tensile, Tear and Cold Flex
Warp tensile strength is approximately 2,200 N and weft tensile strength approximately 2,000 N. Warp tear strength is around 150 N, and the coating shows no cracking at -30°C. These values are relevant for tensioned tarps, inflatable panels and covers pulled over frames, where the fabric carries load while the coating remains flexible in cold conditions.
HF Welding Performance
High-frequency weld peel strength reaches 15 N/cm, and the coating resists oil and fuel contact. For truck-cover seams, inflatable structures and industrial containment covers, HF welding can create joined panels without the needle holes produced by conventional stitching.
Customization Capability

Thickness and Weight
Total thickness can be specified at approximately 0.35-0.55 mm, with finished weight from about 380 to 550 g/m². The range allows the construction to be adjusted for different handling and barrier requirements.
Surface Finish and Color
Surface finish can be matte or gloss. Solid colors are matched to an approved swatch or Pantone/TPX reference.
Printing
Logos, warning graphics and repeating patterns can be printed on the coated surface. Artwork scale and repeat are set to the final cutting plan.
Quality Control
- The 500D Oxford base is checked for weave defects, width and basis weight before PVC application. During knife coating, the process is monitored for PVC mix consistency, coating weight on both sides, gel formation and surface continuity. Attention is paid to pinholes, exposed yarns and thick-thin bands.
- During the coating run, finished lots are compared with the approved functional and dimensional specification. Coating build is also checked against the agreed construction before release.
- Before packing, every finished roll is inspected for surface defects, color variation, edge damage, creases, contamination and roll dimensions. Third-party inspection is accepted when an independent shipment-release check is required.
FAQ
Q: Can I get a standard sample before ordering?
A: Yes. Standard product samples can be provided free.
Q: What is the MOQ for this PVC-coated construction?
A: MOQ is 2,000 m² for this PVC-coated construction.
Q: Can this fabric be used for potable-water liners?
A: Not as standard. Potable-water use requires a dedicated compliant formulation.
Q: Can a flame-retardant version be developed?
A: Yes. A DIN 4102 B1 option is available.
