Product Overview
Waterproof Car Cover Fabric is a three-layer breathable laminate made with 300D polyester Oxford and PU coating, a 0.02 mm polyether TPU membrane and a soft 20D knitted backing. The finished fabric weighs about 210 g/m². It is intended for outdoor covers, high-value vehicle covers and humid-climate storage where a high water barrier is needed without trapping all moisture vapor inside the cover.

Core Advantages
High-Barrier Breathable Protection
The laminate is rated to 15,000 mm hydrostatic resistance and 8,000 g/m²/24h vapor transfer. In heavy rain, the outer construction limits water entry; once humidity builds inside the cover, the membrane still allows vapor to move outward.
Hydrolysis-Resistant TPU Membrane
The 0.02 mm membrane is polyether TPU, which is selected for better hydrolysis resistance than polyester-type TPU. After 168 hours at 70°C, the listed construction retains more than 90% of its strength, an important point for storage in hot and humid conditions.
Cold-Weather Flexibility
No cracking is reported at -30°C. The membrane and coated outer layer therefore remain flexible enough for winter folding, fitting and removal instead of becoming brittle in low temperatures.
Customization Capability

Barrier Performance
Barrier performance can be chosen within the car-cover range according to the project. Available constructions extend from mid-level waterproof laminates to about 15,000 mm H₂O, with vapor-transfer targets up to roughly 8,000 g/m²/24h.
Backing and Outer Fabric
Outer Oxford can be selected from the 210D-600D range. For the vehicle-contact side, a 20D knitted backing or microfiber flannel can be used depending on the required hand and the finished-cover construction.
Color and Lamination Format
Outer color, PU appearance, roll width and roll length are matched to the approved sample and cutting plan. The same approach can be used for sedan, SUV and specialty vehicle-cover programs.
Quality Control
- Before lamination, the polyester Oxford, TPU film and knitted backing are checked against the approved layer specification. Film thickness, fabric weight and face orientation are confirmed before the materials enter the bonding process.
- During lamination, inspectors look for uneven bonding, wrinkles, trapped particles, poor edge alignment and pinholes. The TPU film needs continuous bonding because local damage can spread when the material is repeatedly folded.
- Release testing covers the agreed water-pressure, vapor-transfer and low-temperature requirements. Every shipment is inspected before packing, and third-party inspection is accepted when required.
FAQ
Q: What payment term applies to custom-made projects?
A: Custom-made products use 50% deposit and 50% balance.
Q: What is the MOQ?
A: The MOQ is negotiated according to the construction and project requirements.
Q: Does the 15,000 mm value include stitched seams?
A: No. It is a fabric rating; finished-cover seams require their own sealing method.
Q: Is the membrane exposed during normal use?
A: No. The TPU membrane is enclosed between the Oxford outer fabric and the knitted inner layer.
