Product Overview
Nylon Tarp Material is a lightweight coated nylon fabric for portable tarps, emergency rain shelters, outdoor equipment covers, compact cargo protection, and similar applications where a packable alternative to heavy PVC tarpaulin is needed.

Key Advantages
High Strength at Low Fabric Weight
At 85 g/m², the 210D nylon 66 construction reaches 1100 N warp and 950 N weft tensile strength, with tear values of 40 N and 35 N. The combination is intended for portable covers and shelters that need useful mechanical strength without the packed weight of an industrial tarp.
Water Barrier with Flexible PU Coating
The double-sided PU coating has a total build of 0.25 mm and reaches 5,000 mm H₂O water resistance. It limits water penetration during prolonged rain while keeping the material flexible enough for rolling, folding, and repeated setup.
Cold-Weather Flexibility
The coated fabric shows no cracking at -30°C. After winter transport or cold storage, it can still be unfolded, tensioned, and handled without the coating immediately turning brittle at folds and edge bends.
Customization

Rolls & Cut Pieces
The fabric can be supplied in rolls or converted into cut panels. Piece dimensions, edge allowance, and roll length can be set for tarp, shelter, cover, or lining production.
Coating & Functional Options
PU coating build can be adjusted for project-specific waterproofing, surface feel, flame-retardant finishing, or added UV protection. Final coating weight and hand are set around the way the tarp will be used.
Color & Fabrication
Options include solid colors, project-matched shades, printing, hem preparation, and attachment areas for details such as webbing or eyelets. These can be prepared for branded tarp orders or downstream fabrication.
Quality Control
- For this tarp fabric, production checks use 210D nylon 66 filament, 84T×64T density, 85 g/m² finished weight, and a 0.25 mm total double-sided PU coating as the material reference.
- The acceptance specification includes 5,000 mm H₂O water resistance to ISO 811, 1100 N warp / 950 N weft tensile strength to ISO 1421, 40 N warp / 35 N weft tear strength to ASTM D1424, and no cracking at -30°C to ISO 4675. Abrasion loss is 0.4 g after H18 / 1000 g / 500 cycles. The fabric retains more than 85% strength after 500 h QUV aging, weld peel strength is at least 6 N/cm, and CPAI-84 is the listed flame-retardant option.
- Finished rolls are inspected 100% before packing. Third-party inspection can be carried out before shipment when required by the order.
FAQ
Q: Can I get a sample before ordering?
A: Yes. Regular product samples can be provided for evaluation.
Q: What is the MOQ?
A: MOQ is confirmed according to color, coating, width, and conversion requirements.
Q: Can the material be sewn instead of welded?
A: Yes. Sewn construction is suitable; seal the seams when continuous waterproofing is required.
Q: How should finished tarps be stored?
A: Store them clean, dry, shaded, and without long-term compression on sharp folds.
