Shade Cloth Canadian Tire is a reinforced outdoor shade mesh made with HDPE monofilament and PET reinforcement yarns. It is intended for retail and DIY shade products such as patio shade, garden structures, pool and play-area covers, seasonal outdoor screens, precut shade panels, and hardware-store outdoor-living programs.

Core Advantages

85% Shade with Airflow
The fabric provides approximately 85% shade with about 15% open area. The open mesh reduces direct solar exposure while still allowing air to move through the panel, which is useful on patios, play areas, and garden structures where a solid sheet can trap hot air.

Tensile and Abrasion Resistance
ASTM D5034 tensile strength is 1100 N in the warp and 950 N in the weft. In H18 abrasion testing, weight loss is 0.5 g after 1,000 cycles at a 1,000 g load. At fixing zones and in products that are folded, packed, or handled repeatedly, the mixed-yarn construction is intended to withstand pulling and surface contact.

UV Aging and Low-Temperature Flexibility
After 1,500 hours of QUV exposure, the fabric retains more than 85% of its strength. Low-temperature flexibility testing shows no cracking at -30°C. This covers seasonal shade products that may be stored through winter and returned to outdoor use in spring.

Color Options

Standard options include forest green, sand, and black. Production colors can also be matched to an approved physical swatch for retail or brand programs.

Retail Pack Format

Retail programs can use folded panels or rolls, printed instruction packaging, private labels, carton marks, and pack quantities set for the confirmed shelf-ready format.

Panel Conversion

Rectangular, square, or triangular panels can be produced from the confirmed drawing, including perimeter reinforcement and the required fixing-point layout.

Quality Control

Lot inspection starts with the confirmed HDPE/PET mixed construction and the approved sample where applicable. Staff then check weave consistency, roll geometry, and overall surface condition against the agreed specification.
For orders with defined performance requirements, staff check shade rate, tensile strength, UV aging, low-temperature flexibility, abrasion, and the other agreed items against the confirmed product specification.
All finished rolls and retail-converted panels are inspected before packing. The 100% check covers appearance, dimensions, edge finish, labeling, and packing accuracy. Third-party inspection is accepted for shipment verification.
