Umbrella fabrics are broadly categorized into three types: polyester, Oxford cloth, and canvas.
Polyester: Polyester fabric offers the best sun protection and corrosion resistance, making it commonly used in umbrellas, especially sun umbrellas requiring strong sun protection.
Oxford cloth: Oxford cloth is also a common umbrella fabric. It typically has good waterproof properties and durability, making it suitable for umbrellas that need to withstand some wind and rain.
Canvas: Canvas fabric is also used in umbrella making. It is usually thicker and more durable, but compared to polyester and Oxford cloth, it may be slightly inferior in terms of sun protection and waterproofing.
