Product Overview
ESD Safe Fabric combines flame-resistant fibers with conductive fiber in one protective-workwear construction. The listed blend is 88% modacrylic, 10% aramid and 2% conductive fiber at about 240 g/m². It is intended for oil and gas, petrochemical, electrical and other high-hazard workwear programs that require electrostatic charge control together with flame and thermal performance in the outer fabric.

Core Advantages
Flame-Resistant Protective Fiber System
The modacrylic/aramid/conductive blend has an afterflame time of no more than 2 seconds and passes the listed no-melt/no-drip requirement. Under short flame exposure, the fabric is designed to limit continued burning without producing molten polymer drip.
Electrostatic Dissipation for Hazardous Work Areas
Surface resistance is listed within 10⁶-10⁹ Ω, with static voltage below 150 V. In work areas where flammable vapor or dust makes electrostatic discharge a hazard, the conductive component provides a dissipation path as one part of the protective-clothing system.
Arc and Heat Protection Performance
The fabric lists an ATPV of at least 8 cal/cm² and less than 5% shrinkage after five minutes at 260°C. These are measurable material-level figures for arc-rated or thermal workwear selection before the finished garment goes through its own certification process.
Customization Capability

Protective Fabric Weight
The 240 g/m² construction is the main reference point, with adjacent protective-workwear weights available when a project needs a different balance between coverage and garment mass.
Conductive / FR Construction
Conductive content, yarn layout and the flame-resistant fiber blend can be adjusted to the ESD, flame and arc test package required for the garment program.
Color Range
Fluorescent yellow, navy and military green are listed reference colors. Other shades can be developed when they can still meet the required color-fastness and protective-performance tests.
Quality Control
- Fiber blend and fabric weight are checked as part of release because protective performance depends on the actual material construction, not just the finished color or hand.
- The release package verifies the electrostatic and flame-related tests agreed for the order. If a 50-wash benchmark is specified, wash-retention is checked as well; arc and heat data are compared with the approved test requirement rather than replaced by a general flame-retardant statement.
- Finished material is inspected in full before packing, and third-party inspection is accepted. Test reports can be supplied when they are included in the agreed project documentation.
FAQ
Q: What payment term applies to this custom-made fabric?
A: Custom-made products use 50% deposit and 50% balance.
Q: How can the fabric be packed for export?
A: Packing is set to the order requirement; roll wrapping or pallet packing can be specified.
Q: Does this fabric automatically make the finished garment certified?
A: No. The completed garment must be tested and certified to the target protective-clothing standards.
Q: Does ESD performance protect against mains electrical shock?
A: No. Electrostatic dissipation controls static charge; it is not electrical-insulation protection.
